BIM  Capabilities

 

Barton Associates currently uses Building Information Technology (BIM) to create detailed, 3-D mechanical, electrical and plumbing designs for renovation and new construction projects. We use the design software, Autodesk Revit, to coordinate simultaneously with the architectural and structural models for a well-coordinated, seamless design. Barton’s Revit design capabilities include:

 

HVAC

• Ceiling Plan Layouts and Coordination of Diffuser, Register, and Grille locations
• Cross Sectional Views
• Ductwork System Layouts
• HVAC Equipment Including Required Access Clearances
• Mechanical room layouts
• Piping System Layouts.

 

Electrical

• Circuiting of Light Fixture with Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) File Applied
• Placement of Switches, Outlets, Fire Alarm System Devices, Sound System Speakers and Controls
• Location of Electrical Panels, Switchboards, Motor Control Centers, Disconnect Switches
• Coordinated Reflected Ceiling Plans.

 

Plumbing

• Cross Sectional views
• Domestic Water, Sanitary/Vent Systems, and Storm Drainage Systems
• Layout for Sprinkler Head Locations and Fire Protection Piping
• Mechanical Room Layouts
• Piping for Specialty Systems Including Natural Gas, Compressed Air and Medical Gas/Vacuum Systems.
