Shire Pharmaceuticals Mechanical

Systems Validation

Chesterbrook, PA

 

Barton provided commissioning services for a 115,000 square-foot retrofit for Shire Pharmaceuticals. Commissioning services included systems validation of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems as well as verification of the lighting controls. Barton also served as the construction company’s professional regarding the recommended changes to three, 100 percent fresh air make-up units located on the roof.

 

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            

Lebanon Valley College Neidig Garber Science Center Commissioning

Annville, PA

 

Barton provided commissioning services for the 65,000 square-foot science building at Lebanon Valley College. Commissioning services included the analysis of the HVAC systems and controls where there had been concerns with the energy recovery unit fans, improper system equipment set up and wiring. Barton worked with the project contractors to correct the issues within the systems and documented the work in a final commissioning report.

 

     

   

North Schuylkill Elementary School

System Validation

Ashland, PA

 

Barton completed system validation for a new multi-story elementary school in North Schuylkill School District. The project included verification of multiple systems including a 4-pipe heating-cooling system with 74 air handling units, 3 packaged rooftop units, central plant equipment and building automation system, as well as air and water flows. Barton also coordinated system upgrades to address identified deficiencies.

 

         

College Township Municipal Building

State College, PA

 

Barton provided mechanical, electrical and plumbing design and commissioning services for renovations to the 19,100 square-foot facility. The facility houses administrative offices and a live-in fire station that serves the residents of College Township, located in State College, Pennsylvania. The HVAC system for this project involved the use of water-to-water heat pumps that will create hot and chilled water to replace the aging existing central plant facilities. In lieu of a traditional geothermal heat pump system, the State College Joint Area Water Authorities beneficial re-use water system is utilized as the heat sink for this project. The treated beneficial re-use system is utilized as grey water for activities such as irrigation and non-human consumption such as laundries before it is returned back to the environment in designated creeks and wetlands.

 

 

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           

Central Dauphin School District Commissioning

Harrisburg, PA

 

Barton worked with a performance contractor to provide commissioning services associated with implementing Energy Conservation Measures (ECM) in 12 sites across the school district. The ECMs included replacement of boilers, packaged rooftop units, and unit ventilators, Building Management System upgrades, and domestic hot water upgrades.

 

           

York City School District Systems Validation

York, PA

 

Under a contract with Chevron, Barton provided systems validation services for William Penn High School and Goode and Devers elementary schools in York City School District. The schools ranged in size from 150,000 square feet to 200,000 square feet. Commissioning services included air handlers, roof-top units, heat recovery units, chillers, boilers, cooling towers and dehumidifiers, as well as variable air volume units, ventilators/humidifying unit ventilators, exhaust fans, cabinet heaters, unit heater, hot water coils, and relief vents.
