At Barton Associates, we don’t just focus on bringing our projects to life. We make a concentrated effort on developing YOU. We encourage and support participation in industry organizations, continuing education and the pursuit of professional licenses and certifications. In fact, our senior firm members will work with you to make sure you’re on top of your game when you sit for your exam. Our efforts have been so successful that we have never had a person not pass their Professional Engineer (PE) exam!

On an every day basis, we are continually mentoring our employees. At the individual project level, all team members participate in multiple Quality Assurance (QA) meetings with mechanical, electrical and plumbing discipline directors. During these reviews the project design solution is reviewed and critiqued for completeness and accuracy. The process is a valuable experience for all team members.

The firm also holds weekly staff training sessions for each of our three main disciplines: mechanical, electrical and plumbing. These sessions concentrate on the review of current codes and standards; design theories; and lessons learned through recent project experiences. Employees are encouraged to attend these gatherings across disciplines. For example, an electrical designer may also attend the session for plumbing. Barton Associates also hosts regular lunch and learns that are offered on site by various vendors to help staff stay up-to-date on the latest products and technology.
