Barton Healthcare incorporated building information modeling (BIM) technology to provide mechanical, electrical and plumbing design services for the renovation of an existing 15,000 square-foot floor space into an Interventional Vascular Unit with 4 procedure rooms for angioplasty, catheterization, ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy, radio frequency ablation and endogenous laser treatment. The suite was designed to operating room standards with a sterile core. The project included the replacement of two air handlers and general exhaust fans, and the installation of a redundant heat exchanger and heating hot water pump to provide redundancy for the Lime Street Building heating systems. Emergency power was provided for the air handlers and heating hot water system components.
