Milton S. Hershey Medical Center Utilities Replaced Without Patient Disruption
Barton Healthcare served as the lead design professional for the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center to replace the primary steam, condensate and chilled water supply and return mains.
The project required close coordination with the medical center facility staff to ensure no disruption to patients and staff occurred throughout the five-month construction project.
The design was complex due to the myriad of existing utilities required to remain in service during construction, the limited construction duration due to season conditions, and the requirement to temporarily reroute utilities to maintain operation of the central utility plant.
