What technologies interest you the most?
Color-Tunable LED Lighting. It is an emerging LED technology that has the ability to emulate natural light. It is currently being studied as a means to help regulate a person’s circadian rhythm which we know can affect all aspects of our lives. The technology has the potential to revolutionize lighting in healthcare as well as other industries.

What is your favorite project you worked on?
The Virginia Beach Convention Center. It was my first lighting project after graduating college and it became the nation’s first Convention Center to be awarded LEED Gold Certification.

What advice would you give an engineering student?
Internships are a great way to do a ‘test drive’ for your professional future. They provide the perfect time to better understand what things you are looking for in an employer including company size, specialty, office culture, management styles, expectations, and morale.

What’s your favorite quote/saying?
‘Hearing is Deceiving, Seeing is Believing, but Feeling is the Naked Truth.’ – Howard Gordon (My Dad)

What do you do when you’re not working?
I enjoy spending time with friends and family, whipping up new recipes in the kitchen, and curling up with a good book. I also love to travel, whether it’s a summer beach vacation, a quick weekend trip to the Finger Lakes, or a new adventure in Europe.
