Do you belong to any clubs/organizations?
I’ve been a member of the Shiloh Fire Company since 1999. I have served as both Executive and Operations officers and have been a Chief Officer for the past 10+ years; the past 4 as Company Fire Chief.

Why did you become an engineer?
I was taking a drafting class in high school and really liked the design aspect of it and was also pretty good in math and science classes, so I enrolled in Penn State’s Architectural Engineering program that combines those interests together.

What advice would you give an engineering student?
Become a student of Leadership; attend speaking engagements and read books. Leadership is lacking and you can be a leader at any level in your career.

What is your favorite project you worked on?
St. Joseph Hospital Southeast Addition. It was my first major healthcare project as a PM with a great design professional, owner, and construction team.

What’s your favorite thing about working at Barton?
The York office is very cool to work in as an engineer and the people are committed to putting out quality projects.

What do you do when you’re not working?
I enjoy going on wine trails with family and friends and attending live music events.

What’s your favorite quote/saying?
“A day that I haven’t learned something new, changed my way of thinking, or had a new idea is not a very good day.” – Dr. Stefan Svensson
