About Dane
Dane has been with Barton for over 10 years serving as a Mechanical Engineer at our State College Office. He attended Michigan Technological University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
When asking Dane what do you most like about the ESOP, he states, “I like the dynamic that ownership creates in our workplace.”
Tell us a little bit about your life at home.
My wife Ambri and I have been married for 12 years now. We have four kids, Clay (10), Kate (8), Tessa (6), and Gus (4). They love hiking, movie nights, and bringing the recycling back into the house to make art projects. There’s always something going on, and we don’t have it all together, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
What’s your hometown?
I grew up in Green Bay, WI. You can hear the roar of Lambeau Field from my parents’ living room. Yes, I love cheese curds. No, I don’t own a cheesehead. One of my fondest Packer game memories is wearing a snowmobile suit to a December game and walking home convinced that I had frostbite in all ten toes. Turns out I was fine.
Where did you go to college?
I went to Michigan Technological University, in ‘da UP’ (Michigan’s Upper Peninsula). Some of my favorite things were the carboard boat races, 20′ tall snow statues every Winter Carnival, and exploring abandoned copper mines.
If I wasn’t an Engineer, I’d be?
Chip Gaines, minus the cameras and fame. I like finding something with value that’s been disregarded and bringing out the best in it.
What do you love most about your job?
I enjoy collaborating with Architects to seamlessly incorporate the visible parts of the HVAC system into the desired aesthetic of the space.
When I’m not at work I’m doing……
What my wife tells me to. When I’m done doing that, I enjoy woodworking, 3D printing, working on cars, board games, and exploring new places.
What’s your hidden talent?
I’ve been playing guitar and singing for about 20 years.
Favorite Pizza Topping?
Bacon.
What’s on your bucket list?
A tour of Europe exploring the oldest architecture I can find.
