About Heath
With over 2 years of experience in the industry, Heath serves as the Operations Manager at our Raleigh Office. He attended The North Carolina State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
When asked about how the ESOP impacts him the most, He responded “The ESOP helps give me added motivation to do well each day because my work and ideas are contributing to the collective success of everyone at Barton.”
Tell us a little about your family/home life.
I live in Raleigh, NC with my wife, Mary Ella. Among other things, we enjoy going on walks, drinking coffee, and hanging out with our friends. We have been members at our church for the past several years and help lead a community group each Wednesday night.

Where did you go to college?
NC State University.
What was the first job you got a physical paycheck?
I had a friend in high school whose dad owned a door/window company. I worked there for the summer loading doors and windows onto box trucks and stapling door jambs.
What does being part of an ESOP mean to you?
Being part of an ESOP means that by showing up and working with excellence each day, we are able to help each other succeed both in our professional and personal lives.
What do you love most about your job?
I love that as I’m driving around Raleigh, I inevitably drive past our projects. Whether it’s an office building, apartment, or one of the many restaurants/bars we’ve worked on, it’s cool to see our work have a tangible positive impact on our community.
What’s your favorite sport (professional, college, or other)?
Basketball.
When I’m not at work I’m doing……
Going for a run, playing disc golf, on the driving range, playing basketball, watching The Office.

Eric Church, Tyler Childers, Chris Stapleton, Luke Combs.
What’s your hidden talent?
I was a professional cup stacker from ages 6-11. My little sister Emma and I were on Team USA and competed annually at the World Championships.
What’s the one movie you can watch over and over again?
The Dark Knight.
What’s your favorite holiday and why?
Christmas – I come from a big family and love the chaos of having everyone together for a few days to catch up and have fun together.
