Employees Volunteer with the United Way of York County

Employee volunteers from the York office joined with the United Way of York County and participated in Day of Action. This year seven staff members volunteered at New Hope Ministries located at 135 Baltimore Street in Hanover PA to help with outside maintenance of their new building. New Hope Ministries was our agency of choice for our 2014 United Way Campaign Kickoff so it made it easy for our team of volunteers to select them to serve for the Day of Action.

New Hope Ministries is a United Way funded Christian social service geared to helping families in need with basic assistance such as food, rent, utilities & medical care. Provide youth programs in York County with locations in Dillsburg, Dover and Hanover.

The new facility was just recently purchased and renovated to serve the Hanover community of York County. We were asked to join them to help with New Building maintenance and gardening. Our team split up and took on the task assigned and within 3 1/2 hours was able to make the outside of the building and grounds sparkle with beauty. Washing outside windows, and window frames, weed, mulch, trim plant flowers and beautify the grounds.

This day was organized through the York County United Way and New Hope Ministry Volunteer Coordinator, Tammie Gitt.

Our team was made up of the following volunteers: Bob Sells, Jodi Jacobs, Wes Stiles, Denise Stonier, Ken McGinnis, Kristin Cole and Matt Bergey.
