We’re Speaking at the Spring 2019 KAPPA Conference!

Please join us at the Spring 2019 KAPPA Conference hosted by Millersville University.

Barton Associates’ Stephen Oskin, PE, LEED AP and Michael Rader, PE, CEM will be presenting “Mold and Moisture in Schools” on March 13, 2019 at 10:40 AM at the Lancaster County Convention Center.

Overview

This presentation offers an overview of mold and moisture control, focusing on educational facilities in the Mid-Atlantic Region. These facilities typically have systems that do not actively dehumidify or control moisture. Facilities in the Mid-Atlantic region operate for more than half of the year in environmental conditions that do not require cooling and therefore are not dehumidifying. This presentation explains how to operate existing buildings to minimize the conditions that allow for mold growth, and what design approaches should be utilized to control humidity and mitigate mold growth. This presentation is AIA accredited.
