We are excited to announce that James S. Bates (Jimmy) has joined Barton as a Senior Electrical Engineer at our Philadelphia office!

Jimmy joins Barton with 25+ years of experience in building design for extensive higher education and healthcare facilities. Jimmy is a registered Professional Engineer in various states, a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) and is Lighting Certified from the Lighting National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions (LC). He has a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from the University of Colorado and a Master of Business of Administration from The George Washington University.
In his new role as Senior Electrical Engineer, Jimmy will be responsible for performing system selection including design calculations and layouts; equipment research, selection and specification; and research of code requirements. He will also assist with the preparation of studies, reports, specifications and opinions of probable construction costs for projects.
