Barton Education provided mechanical, electrical and plumbing design services for a new 71,000 square-foot library and performing arts center on the Penn State York campus. The project included a new library with group study rooms, instructional space and computer labs, as well as classrooms and a 1,016-seat performing arts center with state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems. The project also included an atrium connector between the library and theater. Systems design included four-pipe variable air volume air handling units with hydronic control reheat units, a centrifugal water cooled chiller and gas fired boilers with a DDC building management system, as well as new plumbing systems, electrical system, emergency power systems, fire alarm system with mass notification capability, fire protection system, telecommunication systems and extensive audio visual systems, theatrical lighting and sound systems.
