About Aaron
Aaron joined Barton in 2024 as our Director of Finance. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with over twenty-five years of experience in the accounting field. Aaron attended York College of Pennsylvania, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
“It means working with your employee-owners towards a common goal of continuous improvement to drive company growth and share value.” stated Aaron when asked what being part of an ESOP means to him.

Tell us a little about your family/home life.
I live in the Dallastown Area School District with my wife Erica, two daughters (23 and 20), son (13), and 3 family pets, a German Shorthaired Pointer and 2 cats. Erica and I will be celebrating our 25th anniversary in June.
Sports and the outdoors are a big part of our lives. My kids have played multiple sports over the years, and I have coached several sports, including baseball, fastpitch softball, soccer, and basketball. I am currently the head coach for my son’s travel/tournament baseball team. We also spend quality time together hunting and fishing.

What was your first job in engineering like?
My first full-time job in engineering was and is at Barton Associates as the Director of Finance. I have worked in other industries in various finance/accounting functions, so I am actively learning the engineering industry.
What was the first job you got a physical paycheck?
I worked in a hotel restaurant and banquet center as a bus person and server for several years during high school and college.
What do you like most about the ESOP?
Collaboration with co-workers who are also employee-owners.
What do you love most about your job?
I enjoy streamlining processes to save time and money, in addition to working with numbers and data to find improvements and increase profitability.
What’s your favorite sport (professional, college, or other)?
Baseball. I grew up watching my dad play softball. I quickly fell in love with baseball and have played or coached baseball from then until now.

Coaching baseball, hunting, fishing.
Favorite pizza topping?
Pepperoni.
What’s on your “stranded on a desert island” playlist?
Country music.
What’s your hidden talent?
Yard work. The time not spent on the baseball field, in the woods, or along the stream, is spent working on my yard.
What’s the one movie you can watch over and over again?
The Shawshank Redemption.
What’s on your bucket list?
Go to Alaska.
When I go to a cookout I hope there’s ____________ to eat.
Cheeseburgers.
What’s your favorite holiday and why?
Thanksgiving. Family and football.
What’s the best piece of advice that you’ve ever been given?
“Don’t be afraid to fail. It’s part of the journey.”
I received this advice from a coach in the past and it applies to all areas of life, not just sports.
