About Jimmy

Jimmy joined our Philadelphia office in 2025 as a Senior Electrical Engineer. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering with a concentration in Electrical Lighting from the University of Colorado. Jimmy later completed his Master of Business Administration at The George Washington University, specializing in Real Estate and Urban Development.

“It is by far the most motivating environment of my career. Such a rewarding culture in my experience,” said Jimmy when asked what being part of an ESOP means to him.

Tell us a little about your family/home life.

My wife (Siobhan) and I have been married for 21 years and have a ten-year-old son, William (Will), a five-year-old daughter, Aoibhinn (Evie), a cat named Frankie and dog named Marlo. She is from Philadelphia, but thankfully I wanted to live in an east coast since well before we met!

What’s your hometown?

Denver, CO.

What was your first job in engineering like?

It was with the Facilities Management at the University of Colorado, and we were in the process of digitizing their stock of paper drawings. Lots of time at the large format scanner. And after college my first job was with a lighting designer in New York City, working mostly on museum lighting design.

What was the first job you got a physical paycheck?

Dairy Queen – love that job!

What do you like most about the ESOP?

Strong team mentality to achieve goals.

How does the ESOP impact you the most?

Work satisfaction paired with long-term thinking.

What do you love most about your job?

I love working on architecture.

If I wasn’t an Engineer, I’d be?

A nurse.

What’s your favorite sport (professional, college, or other)?

Basketball.

I’m seldom without?

Food or, unfortunately, my smartphone.

When I’m not at work I’m doing……

Camping with my kids and dog or cycling.

Favorite Pizza Topping?

Dill pickles.

What’s on your “stranded on a desert island” playlist?

Lot of 90s alternative.

What’s your hidden talent?

Played the trumpet until college.

What’s the one movie you can watch over and over again?

Good Will Hunting.

What’s on your bucket list?

See every continent. Three down, four to go!

When I go to a cookout I hope there’s __ to eat.

Vegetarian food.

What’s your favorite holiday and why?

Is all of them an answer? Christmas these days, I guess, because my kids love it so much.

Wynton Marsalis.

Best book you’ve ever read?

The Fountainhead.

What’s the best piece of advice that you’ve ever been given?

Work to live, not live to work.
