About Logan
Logan joined Barton in 2024 as an intern, a couple of months later he would accept a full-time position as a Mechanical Designer at our State College office. He attended The Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
“I feel like it helps bring all the offices closer together. Also, we get out of the company what we put into it,” stated Logan when asked what being part of an ESOP means to him.

Tell us a little about your family/home life.
I live alone in Bellefonte, PA currently.
What’s your hometown?
Palmerton, PA.
What was your first job in engineering like?
My first full-time job in engineering was and is at Barton Associates. So far it has been a great experience. I have learned a lot about the design and construction process as well as HVAC systems. My other jobs in engineering included internships for a land surveyor and Whiting-Turner.
What was the first job you got a physical paycheck?
I worked at a tree farm over a summer when I was 14 years old. It was one of the hottest summers I can remember.
What do you like most about the ESOP?
I like that we all have a stake in the company. It makes you feel like you are part of something much bigger than yourself. I like the ESOP activities that the ESOP organizes that allows us to get to know our fellow employee owners better both at and outside of work.
How does the ESOP impact you the most?
The ESOP most directly impacts retirement with our company share price.
What do you love most about your job?
I like that I get to do something different almost every day. Being a relatively new employee, I get exposed to a lot more projects, helping our more senior designers complete their projects. It has been a great learning experience so far.
If I wasn’t a Mechanical Engineer, I’d be?
Financial advisor.
What’s your favorite sport (professional, college, or other)?
Golf. It is a very challenging game and really impressive to watch the pros make absurd shots.
I’m seldom without?
Headphones, music or podcasts have always helped me focus since college.
When I’m not at work I’m doing……
Going to the gym, country line dancing, cooking, golfing, or gaming.
Favorite pizza topping?
Hawaiian pizza. I am a firm believer that pineapple belongs on pizza.
What’s on your “stranded on a desert island” playlist?
Lots of Kenny Chesney or beach country music.
What’s your hidden talent?
Line dancing.
What’s the one movie you can watch over and over again?
The Internship.
What’s on your bucket list?
Play golf on every continent in the world (excluding Antarctica).
When I go to a cookout I hope there’s ____________ to eat.
Brisket.
Best book you’ve ever read?
The Bible. Even from a non-religious standpoint it is filled with great life advice.
What’s the best piece of advice that you’ve ever been given?
If you shoot for nothing, you’ll hit it 100% of the time.
