Nathan P. Dietrich, PE

About Nathan

Nathan joined Barton in 2024 as our Director of Business Development. He attended Grove City College earning a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

“What I love most about the ESOP is that we’re all in it together. Everyone has a stake in the game, which means we’re not just working for the company — we’re building something with each other. When the company wins, we all win. That shared ownership mindset creates a different kind of pride in the work,” stated Nathan when asked what he likes most about the ESOP.

Tell us a little about your family/home life.

I live in Dallastown Area School district with my amazing wife Emily, our two sons, Levi (14) and Aaron (12), and our daughter Lydia (9), who proudly runs the household. Most of our time is joyfully spent doing life with our Spry Church family – when we’re not operating a full-time family taxi service to various sporting events. If you need to find us, check the church or the sidelines.

What’s your hometown?

Lilburn, GA.

What was your first job in engineering like?

My first job in engineering felt like drinking from a firehose — in the best way. I was a total sponge, soaking up everything I could from the senior engineers around me. I’ve been lucky to have incredible MEP mentors over the years who were patient, sharp, and generous with their knowledge. They set the foundation for everything I do today.

What was the first job you got a physical paycheck?

Pulling wire with a local electrician. I have been building on that formative experience ever since.

What does being part of an ESOP mean to you?

To me, being part of an ESOP means we’re not just coworkers — we’re co-owners. That mindset creates a culture where people show up for each other, celebrate each other’s wins, and push each other to be better. When we’re all invested in one another’s success, our clients feel the difference. It’s teamwork with real stakes.

How does the ESOP impact you the most?
