About Nicole

Nicole first joined Barton in 2024 as an intern in both our State College and Pittsburgh Offices. After graduating in the summer, Nicole accepted a full-time role with Barton as a Mechanical Designer joining our Pittsburgh Office. Nicole earned both her Bachelor of Architectural Engineering in Mechanical Engineering and her Master’s in Architectural Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.

“I like the fun events that we get to do as a company. It helps me get to know the other employees better,” said Nicole when asked what she likes the most about the ESOP.

Tell us a little about your family/home life.

I live with my fiancé and dog. We recently moved in together and love spending time together with our dog Blue.

What’s your hometown?

Pittsburgh, PA.

What was your first job in engineering like?

I just started my first engineering job recently with Barton. I really like it so far.

What was the first job you got a physical paycheck?

I had a job when I was 15 where I worked at a nursing home. This job gave paper paycheck while I was there.

What does being part of an ESOP mean to you?

It means that the employees voices are valued and heard. I feel like I am genuinely apart of the company community.

What’s your favorite sport (professional, college, or other)?

College football.

When I’m not at work I’m doing……

Gardening, spending time with my dog, cooking/baking, or reading.

Favorite Pizza Topping?

Mushrooms.

When I go to a cookout I hope there’s __ to eat.

Strawberry Pretzel Salad.

What’s your favorite holiday and why?

Thanksgiving – I get to see all of my family and eat good food.
