Mary Taylor Joins Pittsburgh Office as Mechanical Designer

We are pleased to announce the recent addition of Mary Taylor, EIT to our Pittsburgh office as a Mechanical Designer.

“We are very excited to have Mary join our team here in Pittsburgh,” said Lawrence R. Zdinak Jr., PE, Director of Operations for Barton’s Pittsburgh office. “She exudes the traits our company’s culture has been built on, and her technical skills will contribute greatly to our office’s productivity as we continue to grow in the region.”

Mary earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree in Architectural Engineering from Penn State University. She is EIT Certified and a current member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). Mary has received numerous awards from the Architectural Engineering Institute (AEI) during her academic career, including the 2019 Outstanding Administrative Service award. She also served as Co-Chair of Professional Development for the Architectural Engineering Graduate Student Association, where she was instrumental in creating the “Buddy Program” to connect graduate students during the online instruction of COVID-19. Mary has been a Board Member for the AEI Young Professionals Council since 2018.

Mary will be responsible for performing system selection including design calculations and layouts; equipment research, selection and specification; and research of code requirements. She will also assist with the preparation of studies, reports, specifications and opinions of probable construction costs for projects.
