New Public Works Facilities designed to meet the complex requirements of safety programs for Lebanon County DES
Barton Associates provided mechanical and electrical engineering services for a new public safety complex for Lebanon County Department of Emergency Services consisting of two main buildings: a 41,600 square-foot main Department of Emergency Services (DES) building and a 19,300 square-foot Operations building.
The main DES building will house the county’s 9-1-1 call center, offices, training facilities, data center, kitchen/cafeteria, and other support spaces. The Operations building will consist of multiple garage bays with vehicle exhaust systems and a wash bay to house county emergency vehicles and HAZMAT equipment.
The site also includes a helicopter pad, radio tower, roadways, and parking. Redundant Tier III systems are provided for cooling, power, data wiring distribution, and fuel sources. Multiple generators provide back-up power to the buildings. The project includes a snow melt heating plant for site walkways & helipad. Pre-action & clean agent specialty fire protection systems are utilized for essential areas in the buildings.
