New Visitor Center and Museum Constructed at John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove
Barton Associates provided MEP design services for a new visitor center and museum for the John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove. The building includes exhibit space, orientation theatre, gift shop, catering/kitchen, offices, classroom, and collections storage.
Building HVAC, fire protection, and lighting systems were designed for stringent environmental conditions that are required for the preservation of John James Audubon’s collections. The facility will permanently display and store the many artifacts and paintings of birds created in the 1830s by the American ornithologist and naturalist.
The Audubon Center site upgrades included new utility-fed electrical service to help consolidate the multiple feeds and allow for distribution to the historic structures on the campus.
