New State-of-the-Art High Center for Worship and Performing Arts at Messiah University to Serve Students and Community
Barton Education provided MEP engineering services for a 95,000 square-foot addition and renovations at the Climenhaga Performing Arts Center to create the Calvin and Janet High Center for Worship and Performing Arts at Messiah University.
The center is home to the University’s visual arts, theater and music departments includes a 1,000-seat performance hall that will serve as a worship center and theater, as well as recital and practice spaces; a large lecture hall/theater; art studio and gallery; photography studio; faculty offices and classrooms.
Systems design includes four-pipe variable air volume air handler units with hydronic control reheat units, a magnetic bearing chiller and modular condensing boilers, as well as the replacement of the plumbing, electrical, fire alarm system with mass notification capability, fire protection system, telecommunication systems and extensive audio visual systems, theatrical lighting and sound systems.
