Barton Education Reimagines Student Community Center and Dining Hall at Penn State Schuylkill
Barton Education provided MEP engineering and construction services for a design build project to renovate approximately 8,400 square feet and add approximately 4,225 square feet at the Student Community Center and Dining Hall at Penn State Schuylkill. This was done to create a new dining and student social space.
The project includes a new kitchen, servery, dining spaces, game room, rest rooms and a student gathering space.
Mechanical and electrical rooms were constructed to accommodate domestic water, gas and electric service relocations and upgrades.
New mechanical and electrical systems included wet-pipe fire protection system, domestic water heaters, heating hot water system, kitchen ventilation systems, packaged rooftop units, LED lighting with digital controls, normal power distribution, emergency power generation and distribution, telecom, safety/security, and fire alarm.
