New Hybrid Apartments at the Highlands at Wyomissing
Barton Associates is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and architectural lighting design services for a new 120,000 square-foot, 3-story apartment building with lower-level garage for the Highlands retirement community. The facility will contain approximately 40 living units (2 bedroom/2 bathroom/kitchen/laundry/den/patio).
The building HVAC design is based on geothermal water-source heat pump systems and roof mounted dedicated outside air units with energy recovery. Approximately 80 site wells are anticipated for the new construction. An outdoor emergency generator will provide backup power.
Architectural lighting design was provided for the full facility, including the living units, lobbies/lounges, corridors, fitness, events space, and site/landscape.
