Nemours Children’s Health Expands Pediatric Specialty Care Services
Barton Healthcare provided MEP design services to fit out approximately 43,000 square-feet of shell space in a two-story new building to create a state-of-the-art pediatric specialty care and a 10,700 square-foot ambulatory surgery center (ASC) for Nemours Children’ Health located in Malvern, PA.
The project included 18 medical and surgical specialties including a concussion program, onsite imaging, developmental medicine specialists, a sleep center, a surgery center, and associated sterile processing and support services. The sterile processing department includes two reprocessing sinks, two endoscope reprocessing units, two steam sterilizers and a washer-disinfector. The project included a dedicated air handling unit and emergency generator to serve the ASC.
MEP design work was closely coordinated with the building’s core/shell design team. The new site at Malvern has been designed with children’s comfort in mind, providing a welcoming, calm environment to enhance the overall health care experience.
