Temple University Hospital Crisis Response Center

Crisis Response Center Expansion to Better Serve the Philadelphia Community

Barton Healthcare provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design services for a 14,000 square-foot renovation of the second floor of the facility to construct a new Crisis Response Center at Temple University Hospital Episcopal Campus. It’s a 24-hour psychiatric emergency service where individuals experiencing behavioral health crises receive evaluation, treatment, and referrals for additional care.

The center is one of the busiest psychiatric emergency service providers in Philadelphia and the new space has tripled the size of the existing center from 4,400 square feet to more 14,000 square feet.

MEP design includes anti-ligature plumbing fixtures, air terminals, nurse call devices, light fixtures, and electrical receptacles throughout the area of work.  A new rooftop HVAC unit with VAV air distribution will provide space temperature control and ventilation for the space.
