New Upper School and Community Spaces create much needed Academic Spaces
Barton Education provided MEP engineering services and fire protection design services for the new Logos Academy Expansion. The academy is an independent, Christ-centered K-12 school in York, PA.
The project provided much needed academic space for the upper school (9-12) through renovations to an historic 1930s downtown Cadillac car dealership along with construction of an addition.
The renovated section of the building houses classrooms, visual arts studio, a fully equipped science lab, additional academic offices, and a central skylit student forum.
The addition houses a gymnasium, gallery, events space, and student café. The project allows for enrollment growth and adds much needed community space.
This facility is right across the street from the Logos Academy lower school. The project met the approval of the City of York’s Historic Architectural Review Board (HARB) since the site is located within a downtown historic district. The project renovations highlight one of the last remaining art deco façades in the downtown area.
